On to North Wales

After a few days interrupted by rain we have just started walking again. But first - getting there. Our journey takes us via the New Forest, past Stonehenge and the ruins of Tintern Abbey.

Oggies anyone?

The Llangollen Railway runs a steam train to nearby Corwen in North Wales. The journey is 25 minutes through the lovely Dee valley.

JMW  Turner painted the above idyllic landscape near Corwen

We walk from Corwen to the Cynwyd along a disused railway line. The service was discontinued in 1964. Welsh slate is used to border fields and make sturdy fence posts.
